House Rules
- The Lismore team work in the vineyard as well as run the homestay. If your stay is longer than 3 days then the team will need access to the pool and spa at a convenient time to ensure the chemicals are in balance.
- If you have additional guests come to the property then you need to ensure they have filled out the H&S document. The number of day guests is limited to 4 people.
- The max house capacity is 12 due to fire regulations.
- You need prior permission to use Lismore for commercial purposes I.e you are re-charging guests anything other than the accommodation fee.
- Prior permission is required before any external vendors are allowed to enter the premises
Health & Safety
All guests will need to acknowledge the health and safety and code of conduct document prior to entering the property.
Guest basic safety rules for Lismore House
- All accidents and near misses must be reported to Lucy on the day of occurrence
- Always be mindful of hazards
- Follow and obey all signs and instructions on the property
- No drugs allowed
- Any alcohol consumed must be done so in a confined environment. Legal limits must be adhered to if driving
- No firearms on the property
- All children are the responsibility of their parent or guardian and must be supervised at all times
- All children 8 years and under must be actively supervised by a caregiver 16 years or over when in the swimming pool
- No running, smoking, food or glass in the swimming pool area
- No smoking, food or glass in the spa pool
- No smoking in doors
- When not in use, the spa pool cover must be secured and locked and the key kept in its designated area
- No dogs are to be brought onto the property
- Adhere to fire restrictions when in place
- Keep away from all vineyard machinery and vehicles
- When any vineyard work is occurring, ensure you remain at a safe distance at all times
- Keep clear of all vineyard buildings
- Remain clear of the vineyard windmill at all times
- Do not interfere with any fixtures or fittings both indoors and outdoors
- Do not feed the ducks
- The river area is completely out of bounds and is not to be accessed
- If you are unsure – ASK!
Health And Safety Code Of Conduct
1. General:
- Follow and obey all rules, signs and instructions for Lismore House
- Our Business is providing a Drug and Alcohol free workplace for all employees, visitors and contractors to ensure the safety and health of everybody and to meet requirements under the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015.
- No smoking indoors
- No running, smoking, food or glass in the swimming pool area
- No smoking, food or glass in the spa pool
- Always wear adequate cover including sunscreen, hat and clothing when working in the sun.
- No firearms are to be brought onto the property
- Workplace bullying and harassment will not be tolerated
- Suitable footwear must be worn at all times
- No dogs are to be brought onto the property
- Keep away from all vineyard machinery and vehicles
- When any vineyard work is occurring, ensure you remain at a safe distance at all times
- Keep clear of all vineyard buildings unless authorised
- Remain clear of the vineyard windmill at all times
- If in DOUBT ASK!
2. Hazards & Risk Assessment:
- Always look out for hazards and remember to remove them, guard against them and warn others about them. Always think through the best risk assessment and controls that should be applied to each hazard.
- Remember: Eliminate and Minimise hazards and always consider risk controls that can be applied.
- Report immediately any condition or practice you think might cause damage to equipment or injuries to anyone.
- Maintain safe work practices and keep yourself and others safe.
Fire and Fuels:
- Do not smoke around flammable substances.
- Always close petrol cans after use.
- Adhere to fire restrictions when in place
Manual Handling: Heavy Loads & Lifting
- Practice correct lifting techniques at all times when lifting loads
- Always get help for heavy loads or use an applicable lifting device.
- Ensure the workplace is tidy and free of obstructions.
Water – pond and pool
- Always supervise children around any water hazard.
- Practice extreme care around ponds and drains as banks may be unstable.
3. Emergencies:
- Read and understand the Lismore House emergency procedures, location of the fire extinguishers, first aid kits and their use.
- If in doubt, ask.
4. Accidents or Incidents:
- Whenever you or the equipment you operate is involved in an accident or incident, regardless of how minor, report and record it on day of occurrence in the Business Health and Safety Manual and inform Management.
- Get first-aid promptly if needed.
- Participate in rehabilitation for work related injuries / illnesses.
- Any serious harm injuries must be reported to owners immediately so they can report this to the authorities.
5. Children:
